According to data from Agoda, searches for accommodation in Vietnam by Polish, Czech, and Swiss tourists have surged since the country introduced a visa waiver policy for citizens of these three nations, effective from March 1 to December 31, 2025.

On July 16, digital travel platform Agoda reported a significant spike in interest in Vietnam among tourists from Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic following the visa exemption announcement.
Between January 1 and June 23, 2025, accommodation searches on Agoda for travel to Vietnam increased by 306% from Poland, 155% from the Czech Republic, and 68% from Switzerland compared to the same period in 2024. The data covers searches for trips scheduled between March 1 and December 31, 2025 - the exact timeframe the visa waiver policy is in effect.
The policy allows citizens from these countries to stay in Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days for tourism purposes. This initiative expands opportunities for European travelers to explore Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Notably, Polish travelers showed the highest increase in interest.
The visa exemption is part of Vietnam’s broader strategy to boost international tourism by simplifying visa procedures and eliminating fees, thereby making it easier for travelers to experience the country’s dynamic cities, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture.
During the visa-free period, the most searched destinations among travelers from Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic include Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc Island, and Nha Trang. Each destination offers distinct and immersive experiences that highlight different facets of Vietnam.
Known for its golden beaches and the iconic Dragon Bridge, Da Nang often serves as the gateway to cultural heritage sites like the Marble Mountains and Hoi An Ancient Town.
Bustling Ho Chi Minh City blends modern skyscrapers with historical landmarks such as the Cu Chi Tunnels and boasts a vibrant street food culture.
Hanoi, the capital, enchants visitors with its ancient Old Quarter, the serene Hoan Kiem Lake, and centuries-old temples.
Phu Quoc, the “pearl island,” is a tropical paradise with pristine beaches, lush forests, and world-class resorts.
Nha Trang, meanwhile, is famed for its turquoise waters, lively nightlife, and exhilarating water sports like scuba diving and coral reef exploration.
With the latest visa policy, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic join the growing list of European countries eligible for visa-free entry into Vietnam. This list already included Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Vu Ngoc Lam, Agoda’s Country Director for Vietnam, stated: “Vietnam’s visa exemption policy is a fantastic step that enables European tourists to more easily discover the country’s charm, where culture, nature, and hospitality intersect beautifully. This is great news for both travelers and the tourism industry.”
He added that the surge in search volumes demonstrates Vietnam’s growing appeal as a diverse destination catering to a wide range of travel interests, from cultural exploration to beachside relaxation.
