Vietnam’s national women’s football team delivered a dominant performance with a 6-0 victory over the UAE in their second match of Group E in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers. However, there was a slight disappointment as star striker Huynh Nhu is still seeking her first goal.

Coach Mai Duc Chung made six changes to the starting lineup for the clash against the UAE, notably bringing back captain Huynh Nhu, center-back Chuong Thi Kieu, and first-choice goalkeeper Kim Thanh.

With their strongest lineup on the field, Vietnam quickly overwhelmed their West Asian opponents.

In the 11th minute, from a corner delivered by Van Su, an unmarked Chuong Thi Kieu headed in the opener. Just four minutes later, a defensive error by the UAE allowed Thai Thi Thao to double the lead. Before halftime, Nguyen Thi Van netted the third goal after a classy cross from Thu Thao.

In the second half, Nguyen Thi Van completed her brace with a clinical one-touch finish inside the box. Despite several substitutions, Vietnam continued to control the game and added two more goals to seal an emphatic 6-0 win.

Although Huynh Nhu remained goalless and was subbed off in the 62nd minute, Vietnam maintained their top spot in Group E with six points after two matches. Their final group match against Guam will determine who finishes at the top.
