In the final match, Vietnam defeated the Philippines 3-0, showcasing dominance under head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet. The tournament also saw standout individual performances, with Tran Thi Thanh Thuy named Best Outside Hitter, Bich Tuyen earning both Best Opposite and MVP, and Khanh Dang recognized as Best Libero.

Bich Tuyen, wearing jersey number 10, led the scoring across the tournament with 91 points, including 81 in attacks, 7 blocks, and 3 aces. Her stellar form in both the semifinals and finals solidified her status as the team’s most valuable player.

Following the emotional final, the team received a total bonus of VND 350 million (approx. USD 13,725), including VND 200 million (USD 7,850) from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation.

Top 25 in the world, but eyes set on SEA Games gold

Reaching the 25th position in the FIVB world rankings marks the highest standing Vietnam's women’s volleyball team has ever achieved. Despite the accomplishment, head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet remains focused on continued improvement.

He praised the team’s growing cohesion, particularly in blocking and attack, while noting that service has improved and back-row defense and first-ball reception still need work.

Coach Kiet emphasized that the AVC Nations Cup is just the beginning. The team’s goals for 2025 include competing in the World Cup - an immense challenge - and aiming for a historic gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. However, the Thai women’s team, with 14 consecutive SEA Games titles, remains a formidable rival.

Following the AVC Nations Cup, the team returned to Quang Ninh for a 10-day training camp before competing in the VTV Cup 2025 from June 28 to July 5 in Vinh Phuc.
