On the morning of June 30, provinces and cities across the country held ceremonies to announce the resolutions and decisions issued by both central and local authorities concerning the merger of administrative units, the establishment of party organizations, and the appointment of new leaders for provincial, municipal, communal, and special administrative areas.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed decisions appointing individuals to the position of Chairperson of the People's Committees in newly merged provinces and cities.

According to Decision No. 1255/QD-TTg, Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the newly established Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, is appointed Chairperson of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province (new) for the 2021-2026 term.

Under Decision No. 1256/QD-TTg, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the newly established Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, assumes the role of Chairperson of the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province (new).

Decision No. 1258/QD-TTg appoints Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the new Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee, as Chairperson of the People's Committee of Phu Tho Province (new).

According to Decision No. 1260/QD-TTg, Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi becomes Chairperson of Vinh Long Province (new), having served as Deputy Secretary of its new Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Ho Van Mung has been appointed Chairperson of An Giang Province (new) under Decision No. 1261/QD-TTg, following his term as Deputy Secretary of the new Provincial Party Committee.

Under Decision No. 1262/QD-TTg, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan is appointed Chairperson of Dak Lak Province (new) for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang becomes Chairperson of Dong Thap Province (new) under Decision No. 1263/QD-TTg.

Decision No. 1264/QD-TTg appoints Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai as Chairperson of Ca Mau Province (new).

In Decision No. 1265/QD-TTg, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Deputy Secretary of the newly formed Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, is appointed Chairperson of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee (new).

Mr. Nguyen Khac Than has been appointed Chairperson of Hung Yen Province (new) under Decision No. 1266/QD-TTg.

According to Decision No. 1267/QD-TTg, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet is appointed Chairperson of Da Nang City (new).

Decision No. 1268/QD-TTg assigns Mr. Ho Van Muoi as Chairperson of Lam Dong Province (new).

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan is appointed Chairperson of Gia Lai Province (new) under Decision No. 1269/QD-TTg.

According to Decision No. 1277/QD-TTg, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan is appointed Chairperson of Bac Ninh Province (new).

Mr. Phan Huy Ngoc is appointed Chairperson of Tuyen Quang Province (new) under Decision No. 1279/QD-TTg.

Under Decision No. 1286/QD-TTg, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang is appointed Chairperson of Quang Ngai Province (new).

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam is appointed Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Province (new) under Decision No. 1288/QD-TTg.

According to Decision No. 1289/QD-TTg, Mr. Le Ngoc Chau becomes Chairperson of Hai Phong City (new).

Decision No. 1293/QD-TTg appoints Mr. Tran Phong as Chairperson of Quang Tri Province (new).

Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc is appointed Chairperson of Ninh Binh Province (new) under Decision No. 1295/QD-TTg.

According to Decision No. 1296/QD-TTg, Mr. Tran Van Lau is appointed Chairperson of Can Tho City (new).

Mr. Nguyen Van Ut is appointed Chairperson of Tay Ninh Province (new) under Decision No. 1298/QD-TTg.

According to Decision No. 1299/QD-TTg, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan is appointed Chairperson of Lao Cai Province (new).

These decisions take effect from July 1, 2025.

In addition, under Decision No. 1259/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the election results appointing Mr. Le Hai Hoa as Chairperson of the People's Committee of Cao Bang Province for the 2021-2026 term. This decision took effect upon signing on June 24, 2025.

Under Decision No. 1257/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the dismissal of Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh from his position as Chairperson of Cao Bang Province for early retirement. This decision also took effect upon signing on June 24, 2025.
