On the morning of May 16, Colonel Tran Tien Hien, Commander of the Quang Nam Border Guard Command, confirmed that the unit had successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking case and arrested a suspect involved in smuggling heroin from Laos.

At around 9:30 AM on May 10, in La Dee Commune, Nam Giang District (Quang Nam), an operation led by the Anti-Drug and Crime Prevention Division of the Quang Nam Border Guard, in coordination with Nam Giang International Border Gate Border Post, the Central Anti-Drug Special Forces Division (under the Border Guard Command), and Nam Giang International Border Gate Customs, apprehended Vietnamese national T.N.T. as he was transporting heroin from Sekong Province, Laos into Vietnam.

At the scene, authorities seized 38 heroin bricks weighing approximately 14.3 kilograms and a pickup truck used for transportation.

According to the Quang Nam Border Guard Command, T.N.T. is a notorious figure and known gang leader with an extensive criminal background.

The case is currently under further investigation.
