It was not Tran Thi Thanh Thuy but rather Vi Thi Nhu Quynh who became the highest scorer for VTV Binh Dien Long An at the 2025 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship. She is being compared to Xuan Son of Vietnamese volleyball.
Top scorer in Asia

Concluding the 2025 Asian Women's Club Championship in the Philippines, VTV Binh Dien Long An finished as runners-up, securing a spot at the Women's Club World Championship.
For individual honors, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Khanh Dang, and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh were respectively awarded Best Opposite Spiker, Best Libero, and Best Outside Hitter.
The awards were well-deserved, especially for Vi Thi Nhu Quynh. Throughout the tournament, the 23-year-old scored a total of 97 points for VTV Binh Dien Long An, ranking second overall and surpassing her senior Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, who scored 95 points. Notably, 84 of Vi Thi Nhu Quynh's 97 points came from attack plays.
Vi Thi Nhu Quynh’s impressive performance has attracted the attention of clubs across Asia and the world. Although she does not have the height advantage of Thanh Thuy, Quynh's strengths lie in her consistency, effective attacking, resilience, and versatility on the court.
At the 2025 Asian Women's Club Championship, every time coach Thai Quang Lai sent Vi Thi Nhu Quynh onto the court, VTV Binh Dien Long An's attacking power immediately improved. She also demonstrated excellent defensive skills.
Remarkably, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is not a regular trainee of coach Thai Quang Lai. She was loaned from Quang Ninh Club just before the western team traveled to the Philippines. Her quick adaptability helped her excel in challenging tasks.
Mainstay of the national team

In fact, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh has been recognized as a top volleyball player in Vietnam for several years. She has been a key player for both the youth and senior national teams and is a crucial attacking option for head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, especially when Thanh Thuy is injured or out of form.
Over the past two years, Nhu Quynh has contributed significantly to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, helping them win third place at the AVC Challenge Cup, place third at the FIVB Challenger Cup, reach the top four at the Asian Championship, Asiad 19, and, notably, qualify for the 2025 World Cup.
"Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is a consistent performer, and we highly appreciate her hardworking attitude in training. She is also a strong option in our attack strategy," said coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

Following the 2025 Asian Women's Club Championship, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, along with four teammates from VTV Binh Dien Long An, joined the national team’s training camp in Quang Ninh.
Quynh shared that one of her biggest goals is to win a gold medal at the SEA Games. To realize this dream, the 23-year-old spiker and her teammates must defeat their arch-rivals from Thailand at the end of this year.
Vi Thi Nhu Quynh was born in 2002 in Nghe An province. Belonging to the Thai ethnic group, she is known for her powerful spikes, thanks to her strong wrist strength.
Besides excelling in attacks from position four, her defensive and first-touch reception skills have also steadily improved, despite her height of 1.75 meters.
In the first round of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship, Nhu Quynh contributed over 50% of Quang Ninh Club's total points.
Many fans liken her to Nguyen Xuan Son for her exceptional physical fitness, effective attacks, and comprehensive playing style.
