In a breathtaking celebration marking the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification, Ho Chi Minh City staged its most extensive fireworks display ever, lighting up 30 locations across the city and bringing millions to tears of pride and joy.
At exactly 9:00 PM, vibrant fireworks exploded over the Saigon River and various central city locations, creating a spectacular panorama that stirred deep emotion among onlookers. This marked the first time the city fired from 30 different sites - its largest fireworks deployment to date.
At the heart of the city, scenes of Ben Nha Rong, the red flag with a golden star atop gleaming skyscrapers, and other Ho Chi Minh City landmarks illuminated the skyline—evoking a deep sense of national pride in everyone watching.
One of the most scenic viewpoints was the statue of national hero Tran Hung Dao, where crowds gathered early to secure the best view.
The celebration featured two high-altitude firing zones: one near the Saigon River tunnel in Thu Duc City and another at the Bến Dược Memorial Temple in Cu Chi. Additionally, 28 low-altitude fireworks shows were held simultaneously across other districts and suburban areas.
Following the fireworks, an incredible drone show featuring 10,500 synchronized drones unfolded, reenacting defining moments in Vietnam’s history - such as the iconic image of a tank crashing through the gates of the Independence Palace and the liberation flag flying high above it.
Earlier in the evening, the city's Mounted Police Force delivered an impressive performance and met with residents along Nguyen Hue walking street, drawing cheers and applause.
Another artistic highlight was the 3D mapping show projected onto the façade of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee headquarters. Carried out by creative teams from Singapore, Belgium, France, and Vietnam, it combined visuals and music in an immersive tribute to the nation’s half-century of unity.
