
On May 26, the Dong Nai Provincial Police launched an investigation into a workplace incident that resulted in two fatalities and three injuries at Phuong Nam Ceramic Tile Company, located in Tan An commune, Vinh Cuu district.
Immediately after the incident, representatives from the Department of Home Affairs, the provincial Labor Federation, and local authorities were dispatched to the scene to collaborate on the investigation, collect evidence, and determine the cause of the tragedy.
Additionally, the Vinh Cuu District Labor Federation visited the hospital to offer support and condolences to the injured workers and the families of the deceased.
As reported by VietNamNet, the incident occurred at around 1 a.m. on the same day. While on duty, five workers suddenly experienced difficulty breathing and collapsed, suspected to be caused by inhaling carbon monoxide gas.

Despite prompt rescue efforts, two of the workers, Nguyen Long S. (38) and Nguyen Hoang Quang L. (26), were pronounced dead before arriving at the hospital. Medical examination confirmed that both deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
The three surviving workers - Dang Cao Hien (44, from Binh Duong), Nguyen Tan Huy (34), and Le Van Ngoc (40, both from Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai) - are being treated at Thong Nhat General Hospital.
According to the hospital, all three patients are now conscious and receiving high-pressure oxygen therapy. Their vital signs are stable, and they remain under observation.
