On July 23, rescue forces in Quang Ninh province continued operations to locate the remaining two missing victims from the capsizing of the Vinh Xanh 58 sightseeing boat in Ha Long Bay.

Colonel Le Hong Van, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police, was present at the scene early on July 23 to personally oversee and motivate officers as they expanded the search area.

Despite challenging weather conditions, including large waves and heavy rains caused by Typhoon No. 3 and its aftermath, 28 police search and rescue teams have persisted in coordinating with other relevant forces to extend the search zone.

Colonel Van emphasized that fire and rescue police, along with waterway police, must remain in close contact with local coastal police units. He also urged active participation from coastal fishing communities to assist in the ongoing search efforts.

Earlier, at 1:00 p.m. on July 22, Quang Ninh’s Fire and Rescue Police received a report about a male body found drifting between Bai Chay Beach and Dau Go Cave. Officers and specialized equipment were immediately dispatched to the site, where they coordinated with the Hon Gai Port Border Guard Station to recover the body.

The victim was identified as Hoang Viet Hung, born in 1979 - one of the three individuals still missing following the capsizing of the Vinh Xanh 58 sightseeing vessel (registration QN 7105) on July 19.

As of now, among the 49 people aboard the vessel at the time of the accident, authorities have rescued 10 individuals, recovered and returned the bodies of 37 victims to their families, and continue to search for the final two missing persons.
