At a press conference on May 23, the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and the provincial branch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha announced details of the event, which will see the relic brought from Phuc Son Pagoda in Bac Giang to the Truc Lam Palace at Yen Tu in Uong Bi city.

This marks the first time a Buddha relic will be enshrined in Quang Ninh, allowing the public and Buddhist followers an opportunity for pilgrimage and veneration.

Key ceremonial activities include the procession of the relic from Phuc Son Pagoda (Tan Yen district, Bac Giang) to Truc Lam Palace; its official enshrinement; mass prayer ceremonies for national peace and prosperity at Hoa Yen Pagoda; and the closing ritual to return the relic to Chuong Pagoda in Hung Yen city.

To accommodate the anticipated influx, Quang Ninh authorities have mobilized an extensive logistical plan. Ten security checkpoints, crowd control barriers, and surveillance cameras are set up along the route, with eight traffic posts and several large parking lots prepared. More than 3,000 volunteers and support staff from local authorities, the Buddhist Sangha, and businesses will be on duty.

The province has also installed over 200 misting fans, shaded shelters, and provided raincoats, hand fans, and face masks along walking paths to support attendees. Medical preparedness includes eight medical teams, eight ambulances on standby, and 15 to 20 designated hospital beds at Vietnam–Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, with strict public health and food safety measures in place.

Importantly, the event will be free of charge, with complimentary drinking water and meals distributed to visitors. The organizers encourage attendees to wear respectful attire and refrain from bringing incense or offerings into the veneration area.
