According to the decision, Mr. Luu Van Tuyen, formerly Deputy CEO of Petrolimex, will serve as CEO for a five-year term starting July 18.
A native of Hung Yen Province, Mr. Tuyen joined Petrolimex in 2002 as a member of the Supervisory Board. He later held several key positions within the group, including Chief Accountant from 2012 to 2019, and Deputy CEO since 2019.
Since June 2023, Mr. Tuyen has also served as a member of the Petrolimex Board of Directors.
His appointment follows the vacancy in the CEO position after Mr. Dao Nam Hai was relieved of his duties.
Previously, the Board of Directors issued a resolution to dismiss Mr. Hai from the CEO role and temporarily suspend his membership on the board as of May 30.
This decision came more than three weeks after the Ministry of Finance issued a directive suspending Mr. Hai from his role as the State Capital Representative at Petrolimex.
