This morning, the Parade and Marching Subcommittee for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 organized the first full rehearsal involving military units across three key training locations.
In total, the military has deployed 38 marching formations-11 stationary blocks and 27 marching units-comprising 7,413 officers and soldiers. Each marching unit includes 10 rows of 160 participants.
This scale surpasses previous commemorative parades, including those held for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
Major General Nguyen Viet Hung of the Army Training and Education Department stated that the formations had reached their 18th day of training. Today’s rehearsal marked the first combined session for performance review and experience sharing.
At National Military Training Center 4, 1,296 officers and soldiers participated in female units including: military band, peacekeeping force, signal corps, military medical officers, commando unit, ethnic militia, and southern guerrilla women.
At Vietnam National University, 2,917 personnel from formations such as: Party and National Flag, Honor Guards from three military branches, army officers, logistics and defense industry technicians, military academy cadets, artillerymen, armored troops, engineers, and the Red Banner unit joined the rehearsal.
At the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, 3,200 officers and soldiers represented formations including: naval officers, air defense and air force officers, border guards, coast guard, electronic warfare, cyber warfare, special forces, chemical defense, airborne commandos, and male militia units.
