Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 in a dazzling finale in Telangana, India, outshining 107 contestants from across the globe. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s representative, Huynh Tran Y Nhi, concluded her journey with a top 40 placement, which, though falling short of public expectations, marked a deeply meaningful milestone for the young beauty queen.
At just 21, Suchata is a professional model and an international relations student at Thammasat University. She also runs a hotel business in Phuket. Her journey to the crown was defined by resilience, having overcome a benign breast tumor diagnosis at 16 – a personal challenge that left a profound emotional impact. Throughout the competition, she stood out with meticulous preparation and poise, winning the Multimedia Challenge and placing in the top 8 of the Head to Head Challenge.
The final four contestants included Suchata (Thailand), Aurelie Joachim (Martinique), Hasset Dereje Admassu (Ethiopia), and Maja Klajda (Poland). Runner-up positions went to Ethiopia, Poland, and Martinique, respectively.
In the final Q&A round, Suchata was asked what the journey had taught her about truth and personal responsibility in storytelling. “I’ve learned that everyone has a responsibility when sharing stories. No matter who you are, someone is watching and learning from you – even your parents. Living with kindness and integrity is the most powerful story you can tell,” she said.
As the winner was announced, Y Nhi, who had shared a room with Suchata throughout the competition, expressed heartfelt joy for her friend. “I was deeply moved and overjoyed. We’ve supported each other since day one, and I know the challenges Opal has overcome. Learning she battled cancer made me even more proud of her strength and this well-deserved victory.”
Despite not reaching the final rounds, Y Nhi still left her mark. She placed in the Top 8 Beauty With a Purpose for her project Heart to Head, which focused on mental health and emotional intelligence, Top 20 Multimedia Challenge, and Top 48 Talent. She was the last name called in the top 40 - a moment filled with emotion and support from her fans.
In a personal message shared after the pageant, Y Nhi described her month-long journey as transformative. “Top 40 might not be the outcome everyone hoped for, but to me, it’s a milestone to treasure. This journey wasn’t about rankings, but about every step of effort, every lesson learned, and the deep friendships formed.”
She also shared her thoughts on her Beauty With a Purpose project: “Even though I couldn’t advance further, I believe the messages of love and compassion from my project will continue to resonate in their own way.”
The pageant’s finale featured all 108 contestants performing in traditional costumes, followed by the evening gown segment, where Y Nhi stood out in her “Garden of Eden” gown by designer Hoang Tony. She exuded grace and elegance, earning praise from the audience and online communities for her confidence and poise.
The final 40 included 16 contestants who advanced through special challenges and 24 others selected by the judges, including Y Nhi. Though her journey ended there, Y Nhi continues to receive encouragement from fans for her spirit, performance, and authenticity throughout the competition.
