As suggested by numerous prior leaks, Apple is expected to introduce a major design overhaul with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. A recent leak has offered the first detailed look at these anticipated changes.

Tech leaker Majin Bu shared two images on social platform X, believed to show prototype models of the upcoming Pro iPhones.

The mockups appear in a deep black shade, even darker than the current Black Titanium of the iPhone 16 Pro. A horizontal camera bar stretches across the top rear, housing separate camera lenses. The LED flash and LiDAR sensor are positioned at the far right of the module.

This design is reminiscent of Google’s Pixel lineup and, if accurate, marks a significant shift in the camera layout of the iPhone Pro series.

Previous leaks have hinted at such changes, but these new images provide the clearest look yet at the actual design direction.

One image shows the camera bar from an angle, giving insight into its thickness. The camera module protrudes from the device body, with individual lenses rising further. This suggests upgraded camera hardware but may also raise concerns about handling comfort and pocketability.

Majin Bu also shared images believed to depict the iPhone 17 Air. Like the Pro model, the Air appears in black but features a slimmer, more minimalistic camera bar.

This layout aligns with recent leaks of the Pixel 9 and suggests the iPhone 17 Air may target a lower price segment with a simpler design. The model appears to feature a single rear camera.

Additionally, another image reveals all four models in the iPhone 17 lineup, this time shown in a light stone or white finish rather than black.

It remains unclear whether these prototypes reflect Apple’s final design. While Majin Bu has provided accurate leaks in the past, his reliability varies. Still, the consistency of this design with other recent rumors makes it noteworthy.

If Apple proceeds with this new direction, it could be a bold move in its design evolution.

Some users may welcome the fresh approach, while others may prefer the familiar styling of recent Pro models. Either way, it’s evident that Apple is exploring new design territory for its next-generation iPhones.
