Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, has signed off on the official plan for activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).
As part of the celebration, the city will stage fireworks shows at five key locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and West Lake. These displays, including traditional fireworks and artistic pyrotechnics, will take place on the evening of September 2.
In addition to fireworks, the city is coordinating with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to host a national scientific conference commemorating the August Revolution and National Day.
Hanoi will also collaborate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to design an official logo and branding package for the anniversary, as well as organize an exhibition highlighting economic and social achievements.
A nationally televised program will be held in cooperation with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, and Vietnam Television, showcasing the historical significance of the 80-year milestone.
Further cultural activities will include a poster design contest promoting the event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
