This year’s results highlight a shift in global travel trends, with Hanoi standing out thanks to its rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and vibrant culinary scene. Popular attractions such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, and the Old Quarter draw millions of visitors each year.

Hanoi’s cuisine, with iconic dishes like pho, bun cha, cha ca La Vong, and banh cuon Thanh Tri, has also earned widespread acclaim from international visitors.

Other cities included in this year’s list are Tokyo (Japan), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Beijing (China), Chicago (USA), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Jakarta (Indonesia), Santiago (Chile), and Buenos Aires (Argentina), among others.

The list reflects travelers’ growing desire to explore culturally rich destinations that are less affected by overtourism. With its unique blend of history, culture, and gastronomy, Hanoi is becoming an increasingly appealing choice on the global tourism map.

Recently, Hanoi also earned a spot at number nine on Time Out's list of the top 20 cities in the world for arts and culture experiences - ranking highest among all Asian cities.
