According to the Department's Inspectorate, the penalty was issued under Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020, which governs administrative penalties in the fields of postal services, telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology, and electronic transactions.

Chagee Vietnam was fined VND 60 million (approximately USD 2,360). The company has accepted and complied with the penalty decision.

Back in March 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with city police, summoned Chagee Vietnam for investigation.

The company had published a link on its official Facebook fanpage “CHAGEE Vietnam” directing users to its mobile app, where a map containing the controversial “nine-dash line” was displayed - an act considered a violation of Vietnam’s national sovereignty.

Despite the backlash, Chagee offered no public statement. However, the company quietly removed the disputed map and disabled the download link for the app.

Amid a widespread boycott campaign on social media, Chagee also dismantled all signage under construction at its then-unopened store located at the corner of Dong Khoi and Nguyen Thiep streets in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

After months of silence following the incident, Chagee officially opened its first store in Ho Chi Minh City on July 16.

The new shop is located on Nguyen Duc Canh Street in the upscale Phu My Hung neighborhood, at a prime corner location with two street-facing facades.

Chagee Vietnam is officially affiliated with the Chinese tea brand CHAGEE. The company is a foreign-invested limited liability enterprise, represented by Ms. Vu Thi Huyen My. Its registered business sectors include restaurant services and mobile food and beverage operations.
