The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho is scheduled to host a hot air balloon festival from April 30 to May 3, with the event featuring a demonstration of 30 hot air balloons, heard a press conference in Can Tho on April 20.

The annual southern cake festival will run from April 28 to May 2 in Can Tho city, with the event displaying hundreds of traditional cakes from localities across the southern region.

The Can Tho University on October 30 inaugurated a laboratory complex and a high-tech building, the most modern of their kinds in the region, using the official development assistance from Japan.

Mr. Tran Van Toan, 40, who lives in Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city, was the first person to open a peacock farm in the Mekong Delta.
