On July 23 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam officially launched a new strategic cooperation to elevate Vietnamese goods globally.
The initiative, V-Brands Go Global with Amazon, is designed to help Vietnamese businesses embrace global e-commerce opportunities, promote innovation in export value chains, and enhance competitiveness on the world stage.
Vu Ba Phu, Director General of Vietrade, emphasized the need for diverse digital trade promotion strategies to support Vietnam’s enterprises in navigating the global market. He hailed the program as a key milestone in deepening the cooperation between the government and Amazon.
Larry Hu, General Manager of Amazon Global Selling Southeast Asia, affirmed that cross-border e-commerce is becoming a vital driver of export growth. "Through this partnership, Amazon will provide Vietnamese enterprises with tools and expertise to successfully enter global markets and grow their brands," he said.
The collaboration will roll out a comprehensive support plan, including knowledge sharing and technical assistance to help Vietnamese companies build strong international brands and increase export value.
Driving growth through technology and training
The initiative will unfold in two main phases with a focus on innovation:
Phase 1: Online Export Promotion Training will deliver 20 specialized online courses to enhance the professional skills of 1,000 Vietnamese businesses.
Phase 2: A series of in-person workshops in major industrial hubs like Hanoi, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong will guide manufacturers through transitioning to global branding models.
Currently, over 60% of products sold on Amazon come from third-party sellers, including thousands of Vietnamese businesses. In the past five years, the number of products sold by Vietnamese sellers on Amazon has surged by more than 300%, highlighting strong international growth.
Le Thi Duyen, CEO of eHerbal, a Vietnamese health and wellness company, shared how Amazon helped her brand achieve global reach: “We blended traditional values with modern technology to create internationally certified products trusted by global consumers.”
In 2025, Amazon Global Selling Vietnam will focus on four key priorities: enabling Vietnamese manufacturers to seize online export opportunities, developing industry ecosystems, strengthening logistics capabilities, and expanding seller training.
The upcoming 2025 E-Commerce Export Conference will further Amazon's mission in Vietnam to nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs, transform manufacturing advantages into global brand strength, and establish Made in Vietnam as a symbol of quality, innovation, and pride.
