The main suspect, Chau Vinh Phu, 41, residing in Hai Chau District, Da Nang City, was arrested. According to investigators, Phu had long been under surveillance after raising suspicion due to his behavior.

Authorities identified Phu as a key player and critical link in a transnational drug trafficking network that brought narcotics into Vietnam.

On June 3, law enforcement caught Phu red-handed while he was receiving a shipment on Ly Tu Trong Street in Hai Chau District. Upon inspection, they discovered 5,000 ecstasy tablets ingeniously hidden in packages labeled as dietary supplements, shipped from abroad.

Da Nang Police have placed Phu in temporary criminal detention and are currently expanding the investigation into the broader criminal network.
