An estimated 40,000 people, including invited guests and public participants, are expected to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

According to Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the celebration, military parade, and public march will take place on the morning of September 2 at Ba Dinh Square and several central roads in Hanoi.

As proposed by the organizing committee, about 40,000 participants are expected, including guests, mass forces, duty officers, and marching contingents.

Pham Xuan Tai said that the Hanoi People's Committee has instructed municipal departments and agencies to implement 10 key mission groups.

These include designing, building, managing, and operating float vehicles for the national emblem, a portrait of Ho Chi Minh, and symbolic models for the 80th anniversary. The city will also mobilize the participation of the general public.

At the same time, plans for traffic regulation and route assignments have been developed to ensure order and safety across the city. Security measures will also include anti-terrorism preparedness, protest management, and fire prevention.

Environmental plans involve assigning sanitation forces to ensure cleanliness and beauty throughout the event areas. Notably, 612 public toilets will be installed and staffed around Ba Dinh Square and along parade routes, especially in areas with high public and tourist traffic.

Healthcare plans are also in place, including emergency response teams, ambulances, doctors, and medical supplies to ensure food safety and pandemic control.

The city has also designed the event’s overall maquette and will proceed with stage decoration, installation of a 30,000-seat grandstand, four LED screens, and visual propaganda elements.

Sound systems will be set up along the parade routes with 400 public address speakers and five full-range speaker clusters in key areas.

At the June 11 meeting of the organizing committee, Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Tran Sy Thanh stressed the need for early preparation, with contingency plans in place to avoid any oversight, however minor. He also requested that tasks requiring central approval be submitted promptly.

The Chairman agreed with department proposals and asked the city’s Office of the People’s Committee to complete and release the official plan for the parade before June 15.

He emphasized that hosting delegates must be done respectfully and inclusively, ensuring all citizens have the opportunity to participate. Security must be tightly controlled.

Chairman Tran Sy Thanh also underscored the importance of consistent and effective communication strategies to foster excitement among the population and promote the elegant, civil culture of Hanoi.
