Three players have been left out of the final list: Nguyen Thi Kim Yen and Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi (both from Thong Nhat Sports Center), and Ho Thi Thanh Thao (Coal and Mining Group FC). Among them, Nam Mi - an overseas Vietnamese player - had attracted significant interest from both experts and fans alike.

With a blend of youth and experience, the Vietnamese squad is aiming to top Group E and secure a place in the final round of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

On the afternoon of June 26, the team continued training with a focus on set-piece scenarios, kickoff formations to pressure opponents, and tactical group play. Head coach Mai Duc Chung reminded players to take care of their health, emphasizing proper nutrition, rest, and balanced routines to ensure peak fitness for the tournament.

In Group E of the Asian Cup qualifiers, Vietnam will face Guam, the UAE, and the Maldives. The team’s opening match will be against the Maldives at 7 p.m. on June 29 at Viet Tri Stadium.
