The Vietnamese Dancesport pair recently delivered outstanding performances at two prestigious WDSF-standard international Dancesport competitions in Europe: Cyprus Open 2025 and Nice - France Open 2025. They earned three bronze medals and a spot in the final Top 6 of the Latin division.

These are both long-standing tournaments in countries with strong Dancesport traditions - France and Cyprus - and they attracted a wide range of competitors from nations such as France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, and Cyprus.

The duo represented Asia as the only competitors from the continent participating in both Senior I (one dancer aged 30+, the other 35+) and Senior II (one over 40, the other over 45) divisions.

Thanks to their remarkable performance, Vietnamese dancers Pham Trung Hoa and Nguyen My Trang secured a place in the Top 30 best Latin dance pairs in the world in the senior category, ranking 29th globally according to the World Dancesport Federation (WDSF) rankings published on May 6, 2025.

Nguyen My Trang shared that both athletes were extremely proud of their achievement. “We were lucky to compete in Cyprus on April 30, as the entire nation was celebrating Reunification Day. Standing on the podium to receive two bronze medals and seeing the Vietnamese flag flying on the tournament scoreboard was a deeply emotional and proud moment for us.”

“Beyond the achievements at these two major European competitions, we also had the opportunity to proudly represent Vietnam and introduce our country and sports community to international friends. Many athletes and fans came to shake our hands, share congratulations, and express interest in visiting Vietnam soon,” she added.

Pham Trung Hoa has been a professional Dancesport athlete and coach for 18 years. He currently serves as the Director of a Dancesport center in Hanoi, where Nguyen My Trang has been training for the past eight years. She is the Deputy CEO of My Thanh Company and began practicing Dancesport in 2017. She only entered professional international competition in September 2023.
