The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has advised its citizens to prepare and seek ways to leave the country via land borders, as the security situation worsens due to escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. A hotline has been set up to assist Vietnamese nationals at any time.

In a public notice, the embassy confirmed that on the morning of June 17, Iran launched 20 ballistic missiles toward Israel, marking a shift to daylight attacks, which significantly raises the risk of casualties and property damage.

Central and northern Israel remain high-risk zones amid the intensifying conflict.

As the security situation deteriorates, several foreign embassies in Israel - including those of China, the United States, and Russia - have urged their citizens to return home or relocate to third countries. Many recommend using land border crossings into Jordan or Egypt.

With Israel’s airspace currently closed and international commercial flights suspended, the Vietnamese Embassy emphasized the need for citizens to be proactive in planning evacuation via land routes, particularly towards Jordan or Egypt, when safety conditions allow. The embassy also advised citizens to remain calm and stay informed via Vietnamese community groups for timely updates and instructions.

Vietnamese nationals can register their intention to return to Vietnam or relocate to another country through a link shared on the embassy’s official Facebook page. This registration enables the embassy to compile a list of needs and coordinate with Israeli and Vietnamese authorities, as well as with other embassies, to arrange appropriate assistance for different groups based on developments.

Citizens are urged to strictly adhere to local security guidelines and prepare essential supplies - including personal documents, medications, food, and power banks - in case temporary evacuation or shelter becomes necessary due to damaged housing.

Approximately 700 Vietnamese citizens are currently in Israel. This includes about 500 permanent residents, a group of students and agricultural trainees, and 16 family members of embassy staff.

The embassy maintains constant contact with community leaders and families to ensure efficient information sharing. A hotline has been activated to provide round-the-clock support.
