Eleven institutions are expected to receive focused investment to train human resources for the development of the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants, as outlined in the recently approved plan, “Training and developing human resources for nuclear power development through 2035.”
The Prime Minister has officially approved this national training strategy, which aims to build a highly qualified workforce for Vietnam’s nuclear energy sector.
One of the plan's key targets is to meet the staffing needs for Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants by 2030, requiring a total workforce of around 3,900.
This includes 2,070 individuals at the university and postgraduate levels, 1,830 at the college level, and 670 who will be newly trained abroad at the university or postgraduate levels.
Along with domestic and international training efforts to meet these demands, the plan also focuses on strategic investment in select educational institutions tasked with developing the necessary workforce for the two nuclear power plants.
The list of proposed institutions prioritized for investment in nuclear energy human resource training through 2035 is provisional and subject to revision based on practical needs and submitted proposals during implementation.
