The two countries deepen ties in technology, research, and digital transformation through a newly signed agreement.
In meetings with Swedish Parliament and business leaders, PM Chinh calls for stronger cooperation in innovation, energy, and digital infrastructure.
Along with the good political relations, economic ties between Vietnam and Sweden have also grown steadily.
PM Pham Minh Chinh said that efforts by the Vietnamese community in Sweden to contribute to their host society are also acts of patriotism, and that all contributions are deeply appreciated.
The PM hailed SYRE’s plan to invest in the south-central province of Binh Dinh, calling it a wise choice given the locality’s favourable business environment and well-developed infrastructure, including an airport and deep-water seaport.
A delegation of the Swedish parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs is on a working visit to VN from March 2 to 5 to enhance dialogues on issues of mutual concern, promote parliamentary cooperation and share experiences in policy development.
Thang noted that as Vietnam is streamlining its political system, the Party and Government are keen on studying international models of public administration, including Sweden’s.
Sweden’s major corporations have firmly established their presence in Vietnam, but SMEs and technological innovation will play an even bigger role in shaping future cooperation.
The world’s leading container shipping company MSC announced the expansion of its SWAN service starting in 2025, which will establish the first direct route between the Sweden’s Port of Gothenburg and Vietnam’s Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
