Heavily favored over their Indonesian counterparts in the semifinal clash, the Vietnamese side in red wasted no time asserting their superiority on the field.
In just the 10th minute, Hong Minh opened the scoring with a stunning free kick. Despite the early lead, Vietnam’s momentum slowed down, giving Indonesia a brief chance to regain composure and push back.
Nonetheless, just before halftime, Hoang Van doubled the lead with a composed finish following a precise assist from Hoai Trinh.
Vietnam intensified their pressure in the second half. In the 48th minute, Thanh Hieu made a blistering run down the left flank and delivered a low cross for Hoai Trinh to tap in from close range, making it 3-0.
Just five minutes later, captain Hoang Van completed her brace, sealing the 4-0 victory after a flurry of chances inside the box. Although they created several more clear-cut opportunities, coach Okiyama Masahiko’s squad could not further extend their lead.
With this convincing win, Vietnam secured a spot in the final against Thailand, who earlier defeated Myanmar 5-1 in the other semifinal. The much-anticipated showdown between the region’s two strongest teams is scheduled for 6:30 PM on June 18 at Thong Nhat Stadium.
