Professor Dhamma Jyoti, a member of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), commended Vietnam’s excellent organization of international events, its friendly people, and the quality of its vegetarian cuisine during his visit to the country for the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak.

Speaking with VietNamNet, Professor Dhamma Jyoti shared that he is attending the 2025 UN Vesak Celebration in Vietnam and participating in the sacred procession of Buddha Shakyamuni’s relics to various temples throughout the country.

An Indian national currently teaching at Nalanda University in India, this marks his second visit to Vietnam. Each time, he said, the country has left him with deep and lasting impressions.

He first visited as a visiting lecturer at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy. This time, he joins the celebrations as a proud IBC member.

“I am honored to travel with the international delegation to Vietnam and to help bring the sacred relics of Buddha Shakyamuni to this country. Serving the Buddha in this way is a great blessing for me,” Professor Dhamma Jyoti said.

He expressed admiration for Vietnam’s development, not only in terms of economic progress but also in preserving its deep-rooted Buddhist traditions, reflected in the distinct architectural artistry of its temples.

“Having traveled to many countries, I find Vietnam remarkably professional in organizing international events. The country offers a high quality of life. I have been well taken care of with comfortable accommodation and meals. Vietnamese restaurants even serve Indian dishes, but I am especially impressed with the delicious local vegetarian food,” he added.

Professor Dhamma Jyoti also conveyed his affection for Vietnam and its warm-hearted people.

During his conversation with VietNamNet at Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh, he expressed his hopes for Vietnam’s continued growth and prosperity.

“I have many Vietnamese students, which makes me feel a special bond between myself and this country,” he shared.
