Vietnam men’s volleyball team fell to Chinese Taipei in the 7th-place match at the AVC Nations Cup 2025.

Vietnam edged a thrilling first set 25-21, but the game shifted in the second. Chinese Taipei showed marked improvement across the board, while Vietnam committed several unforced errors in key moments.

Struggling with efficiency in their spikes, Vietnam dropped the second set 22-25.

Fatigue from the grueling Indonesia match became increasingly evident in the third set, and Chinese Taipei capitalized on the energy gap to win 25-19.

Despite a spirited effort from coach Tran Dinh Tien’s players in the fourth set to level the match, Chinese Taipei maintained their momentum and superior stamina to close out the set 25-22, sealing a 3-1 victory and 7th place overall.

While the defeat was disappointing, it served as a valuable lesson for Vietnam as they prepare for future regional and continental competitions.

One of the standout performers was Ngoc Thuan, who contributed 20 points across the four-set battle against Chinese Taipei.
