The incident occurred during the June 29 flight, which took off at 8:35 PM. Approximately 30 minutes after departure, a 37-year-old Vietnamese passenger, seated in 38B, began exhibiting signs of medical distress.

The flight crew promptly issued a call for medical assistance from passengers with professional expertise and administered initial first aid, including oxygen support. However, the passenger’s condition did not improve.

The captain made the decision to divert to Da Nang for immediate medical intervention. Ground support was alerted in advance to prepare for the emergency. Upon landing, the aircraft was met by medical personnel who swiftly transferred the passenger to a local healthcare facility for further treatment. The passenger's family members and Vietnam Airlines representatives assisted during the process.

After completing the necessary formalities, flight VN7569 resumed its journey to Cam Ranh, arriving at 11:00 PM the same night.

While the diversion incurred additional costs related to fuel, ground services, and scheduling, Vietnam Airlines emphasized that passenger health and safety remain the airline’s highest priority. The company noted that it has rerouted flights on multiple occasions to ensure passengers receive timely medical assistance.

In another notable case, a liver intended for transplant was flown from Gia Dinh People's Hospital to Hue via an early morning Vietnam Airlines flight on June 29. Previously, on June 16, flight VN158 from Da Nang to Hanoi diverted to Phu Bai Airport (Hue) to assist a female passenger in distress. On May 5, flight VN35 from Hanoi to Frankfurt made an emergency landing in Erzurum, Turkey, under similar circumstances.

Vietnam Airlines advises passengers to proactively monitor and assess their health before traveling. If experiencing any concerning symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor and reconsider travel plans to ensure personal safety and the well-being of others onboard.
