According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), on June 18, the DOC released the final results of the 20th administrative review (POR20) concerning anti-dumping duties on frozen pangasius fillets imported from Vietnam to the U.S. during the period from August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023.

Specifically, seven Vietnamese enterprises exporting pangasius to the U.S. market have been exempted from anti-dumping duties, a notable increase from just one company in the previous POR19 review.

Of note, Vinh Hoan Corporation was not included in the list of exempted firms, as it had already been removed from the anti-dumping scope in reviews after 2025. This exemption results from a settlement reached between Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) related to case DS5368, which was officially concluded on January 17, 2025.

The nationwide duty rate under POR20 remains unchanged at $2.39 per kilogram for other companies.

Pangasius is one of Vietnam’s leading export commodities, generating billions of dollars in revenue for the seafood sector. Traditional frozen fillet products account for 80% of Vietnam's total pangasius export value.

In the first five months of this year, pangasius exports brought in $829 million, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. The U.S. is among the top five consumers of Vietnamese pangasius, making tariff policies in this market crucial to the industry’s overall performance.

Preliminary data from Vietnam Customs show that pangasius exports to the U.S. in May reached $41 million, up 35% from May 2024. In total, exports to the U.S. in the first five months of 2025 hit $142 million, representing a 7% year-on-year increase.
