Specifically, Vietnam Airlines announced the cancellation of the following flights: VN1188, VN7188, VN7189, VN7056, and VN7057 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, and VN1856 and VN1857 between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao due to the storm.
On the same day, a representative from Vietjet Air confirmed that several flights to and from Quang Ninh and Hai Phong had to adjust their schedules.
Accordingly, Vietjet temporarily suspended eight flights: VJ232 (Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don), VJ233 (Van Don - Ho Chi Minh City), VJ290/VJ1278/VJ1284 (Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong), and VJ291/VJ1275/VJ1285 (Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City).
On July 21, Pacific Airlines rescheduled flights BL6440 and BL6441 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong to depart earlier, ensuring takeoff and landing at Cat Bi Airport before 12 p.m. The airline also canceled flights BL6520 and BL6521 on the same route.
For July 22, all Vietnam Airlines Group flights operating at Cat Bi Airport will depart after 12 p.m. Additionally, several domestic and international flights scheduled for July 21 and 22 under Vietnam Airlines Group are expected to be affected by delays or disruptions due to Wipha.
In response to the storm, Uong Viet Dung, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, stated that an urgent notice has been issued to all relevant aviation units, urging immediate implementation of storm response measures.
The Civil Aviation Authority has instructed relevant agencies and units to maintain 24/7 operations and strictly follow storm and tropical depression response protocols for civil aviation activities.
ACV and Van Don International Airport, both located within the storm's affected region, have been tasked with leading efforts to inspect airport infrastructure, communication systems, and other facilities to promptly detect and address any potential damage.
