At approximately 8:15 PM on April 25, while on duty, two residents brought a young boy to the police station, reporting that he was lost and could not remember his home address.

The boy could only recall that his father's name was Nguyen Duc A. and his mother’s name was Nguyen Thi H., and that he had a six-year-old younger sister.

Upon receiving the information, Major Chinh quickly questioned the boy, who identified himself as N.A.P. (9 years old). P. said that after seeing images of the military parade in Ho Chi Minh City, he decided, without informing his parents, to take his bicycle and set off on a journey to watch the event in person.

Realizing the boy was lost, Major Chinh gently attempted to gather more details. However, out of fear that the police or his parents would send him home, P. initially claimed he could not remember his address.

"The boy refused to reveal his home address and even asked if he could stay overnight at the station and leave his bike with us, so he could continue his journey the next morning," Major Chinh recalled.

After talking with the boy for some time, the officer deduced that P. lived in Phuc Tho District (Hanoi).

Mai Dich Ward Police promptly contacted the authorities of Vong Xuyen Commune and Vong Xuyen B Primary School (Phuc Tho District) to verify the information. Simultaneously, officers posted details on official communication channels to help locate the boy’s family.

By around 10 PM the same evening, the boy’s father received the information and came to Mai Dich Ward Police Station to bring his son home.

The boy’s father shared that he had no idea about his son's plan to cycle to Ho Chi Minh City to watch the parade, and the entire family had been extremely worried when he did not return home.
