Ta Xua, Son La
Ta Xua, located in Bac Yen District of Son La Province, is a serene retreat for those seeking cooler temperatures and tranquility. Even during summer, the weather remains pleasant, ranging from 16°C to 24°C. Early mornings and evenings are chilly, and clouds often drift lazily across the valleys after a sudden rain, adding to the area's dreamy charm.
A highlight of Ta Xua is its highland prairie in Ban Tro A, Ta Xua Commune, about 12km from the commune center. The unspoiled nature and cool air have earned it comparisons to a “mini Switzerland” among Vietnamese travelers.
Quynh Lap Beach, Nghe An
Located about 230km from Hanoi, Quynh Lap Beach in Nghe An can be reached in just over 3.5 hours by car. Its 12km-long coastline curves gently, lined with unique rock formations and known for its clear blue water, gentle waves, and smooth golden sand - earning it comparisons to Nha Trang.
Bordered by tall casuarina trees and dotted with undulating hills, this beach remains relatively undeveloped and quiet, making it perfect for relaxation. The area is also famed for its fresh seafood, especially squid. Freshly caught squid is carefully selected and dried to produce high-quality dried squid.
With more time, visitors can explore the broader Quynh coastal area, home to seven beaches stretching from Quynh Lap to Tien Thuy Commune, including Quynh Phuong, Quynh Lien, Quynh Bang, Quynh Luong, Quynh Minh, Quynh Nghia, and Tien Thuy.
Quan Lan Island, Quang Ninh
Located in Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don District, Quang Ninh Province, Quan Lan Island is an enchanting destination with crystal-clear waters and long white-sand beaches. It’s often referred to as “the emerald gem of the bay.”
Because it lies within the bay, the sea route to the island is typically calm, minimizing seasickness and shortening travel time.
Quan Lan features several beautiful beaches, including Minh Chau, Robinson, Rua, Tien, and Quan Lan Beach. Eo Gio, near Cau Temple and Cua Dong, is a favorite viewing spot about 6km from the Quan Lan pier.
Another notable location is Vo Cuc Hill in Thai Hoa Hamlet. From the summit, visitors can immerse themselves in the island’s pristine, majestic scenery.

Pu Luong, Thanh Hoa
Roughly 4.5 hours from Hanoi, Pu Luong is accessible via motorbike, private car, or bus. With its refreshing summer climate, it's a popular retreat from the heat.
This time of year is ideal for viewing the “water pouring season” in terraced fields or catching drifting clouds across the sky.
Located within the Pu Luong Nature Reserve, Hieu Waterfall marks the boundary with Hoa Binh Province. Standing about 100 meters tall, the waterfall is formed by the Hieu Stream cascading through the limestone mountains of Pu Luong.
Surrounding the falls are moss-covered cliffs that create a striking, rustic scene. At its base lies a natural pool about one meter deep - perfect for swimming and cooling off while soaking in the majestic mountain scenery.
