A recent video showcasing this picture-perfect road on Quan Lan Island (Van Don District, Quang Ninh Province) has captured over 1.6 million views, sparking thousands of comments and shares on social media.
In the footage, the road snakes through lush greenery with a sweeping ocean view. Distant fishing boats dot the sea, and the scenery draws comparisons to places like Dali or a miniature Ly Son Island.

The video was recorded by Ta Thi Thuy, born in 2000 in Thai Nguyen. She filmed it from a high slope overlooking a fishing village, located on the road to Eo Gio – one of Quan Lan’s most popular tourist spots.
To reach Eo Gio, visitors travel from the Quan Lan Island pier, taking a paved road stretching over 5 kilometers. After that, they continue on a 600-meter dirt trail through a small forest to reach the hilltop area.
Thuy shared that this was her second time visiting Quan Lan and taking this scenic seaside route. Most vehicles here are motorbikes or electric shuttles for tourists, making transportation convenient and safe.
“Riding along the road winding beside the sea, I was amazed by the breathtaking scenery,” Thuy said. “At a high slope, I stopped to take pictures and shoot the video when I saw the ocean's turquoise hue unfold below. It’s a check-in spot absolutely worth visiting.”
To capture the most vivid shots on this coastal path to Eo Gio, the 25-year-old traveler chose to visit around noon when sunlight illuminated the landscape.
The golden sunlight blended beautifully with the green bushes lining the road and the distant blue sea, creating an especially dramatic backdrop.

Like Thuy, other visitors to Quan Lan aren’t deterred by the heat. They pause at this road around noon, when traffic is sparse, to snap impressive photos.

Thuy suggests that after checking in at this scenic spot, tourists explore other attractions in Quan Lan such as Eo Gio itself, Vô Cực Hill, Love Hill, and Cau Cua Dong Temple.
The island also offers several beautiful beaches for swimming and relaxation, including Quan Lan Beach, Minh Chau Beach, and Viet My Beach.
“In my opinion, Quan Lan deserves recognition as one of the most beautiful island destinations in northern Vietnam,” Thuy shared. “The air is fresh and cool, the sea is untouched with clear blue water and long white sandy beaches.”

The best time to visit Quan Lan is summer, between May and the end of July. The weather during this period is pleasant, with mild heat and no storms.
Visitors can choose from a range of accommodations, including guesthouses, hotels, stilt houses, villas, and resorts. Don’t forget to enjoy fresh local dishes such as peanut worms, stone crabs, sea urchins, various shellfish, and seafood.
