On April 12, a representative of the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee confirmed to VietNamNet that it had received an official request from the Ministry's Investigation Security Agency, seeking information and documentation regarding all solar power projects within the province.
Upon receiving the request, Vice Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee, Tran Bau Ha, assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant units to review, consolidate, and submit the requested materials in accordance with the Ministry’s instructions.
The compiled documents must be sent to the Investigation Security Agency and reported to the provincial People's Committee by April 15.
Ha Tinh authorities emphasized that all relevant departments must promptly cooperate with the Department of Industry and Trade and are legally responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data provided.
The provincial police have also been tasked with coordinating with the Department of Industry and Trade to ensure proper procedures are followed.
In Quang Binh, the provincial People’s Committee has also received a similar request from the Ministry of Public Security, asking for documentation to serve an investigation into solar power plant projects in the area.
The official request indicates that the Investigation Security Agency is currently verifying signs of violations related to "abuse of power or position while performing official duties" and "negligence causing serious consequences," reportedly involving the Ministry of Industry and Trade and several localities.
To support the investigation, the Ministry has asked Quang Binh authorities to provide a full list of solar power plant projects that were added to the national power development plan for the 2016–2020 period and have already been partially or fully commissioned, along with detailed plans for electricity sales revenue allocation.
Additionally, they are to supply a list of solar power projects that were approved but have yet to begin commercial operation or receive payment for electricity sales, along with clear explanations for the delays.
The Ministry also requested a report on the challenges and obstacles encountered during the handling of solar power projects in Quang Binh, in line with Government Resolution No. 233/NQ-CP.
All responses and documents are to be submitted to the Ministry’s Investigation Security Agency by April 15.
