Ho Coc Beach

Ho Coc is a small, serene beach that remains relatively untouched by mass tourism. Formerly part of Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, it is now under the administrative umbrella of Ho Chi Minh City.

Nestled at the edge of a forest and far from residential areas, Ho Coc offers a tranquil setting with crystal-clear waters and a gently sloping shoreline dotted with uniquely shaped rock formations. The beach is surrounded by tall casuarina and coastal ironwood trees, making it an ideal spot for camping and picnicking.

In 2015, Ho Coc was ranked 8th on Thrillist's list of the world’s 12 most unexpectedly affordable paradise destinations. Today, it’s fondly dubbed by young travelers as a “beach film set” thanks to its many stunning photo backdrops.

Ho Tram Beach

Also once part of Xuyen Moc District, Ho Tram has rapidly gained popularity, especially for weekend retreats. With its long coastline and growing number of resorts, it’s an emerging favorite for relaxation.

CNN previously listed Ho Tram as one of the world’s most beautiful and untouched beaches. In 2023, Travel Off Path (USA) described it as a “hidden gem” of Vietnam.

The scenic coastal road that runs through Ho Tram impresses visitors with a canopy of green forest on one side and clear blue waters on the other. Travelers can also visit the Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve, Binh Chau hot springs, historic pagodas, and traditional fishing villages and seafood markets.

Dam Trau Beach

Located on Con Dao Island, now part of Ho Chi Minh City, Dam Trau Beach made Travel + Leisure’s 2021 list of the 25 most beautiful beaches in the world.

The travel site described it as having golden sands, bamboo groves, and lush forest, with the unique appeal of being situated directly beneath a flight path.

In recent years, Dam Trau has become a viral social media sensation, drawing tourists eager to snap photos of planes descending dramatically above the beach.

About 15km from central Con Dao, Dam Trau is surrounded by mountains in a crescent shape, creating calm seas and soft white sand. It’s also considered one of the best sunset spots on the island.

Nhat Beach

Located in southeastern Con Dao, Nhat Beach offers a rare glimpse of untouched coastal beauty that appears and disappears with the tides.

Australian outlet News included it in a list of six pristine Asian beaches worth visiting. Despite being a public beach near the island’s main road, it retains its natural charm with white sand, lapping waves, and a mountainous backdrop. Under sunlight, the sea transforms into a clear jade green, revealing the ocean floor.

Con Dao has frequently received praise from international media as a pristine and novel travel destination. In addition to Dam Trau and Nhat beaches, this island district also boasts An Hai, Ong Dung, Suoi Nong, and Lo Voi beaches.

Since its administrative merger, Ho Chi Minh City is now the only locality in Vietnam with two airports - Tan Son Nhat and Con Dao - connected by commercial flights within the same city.
