
Joining the Prime Minister and his spouse on this mission are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long; Deputy Minister of National Defense, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai; Deputy Minister of Finance Ho Sy Hung; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long; Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang; and Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Chu Hoang Ha, among others.
The Prime Minister’s trip is taking place at the invitation of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
This is Prime Minister Chinh’s first visit to France since the two countries upgraded their bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2024.
It is also the first visit to Sweden by a Vietnamese Prime Minister in six years and the first-ever visit to Estonia by a senior Vietnamese leader since diplomatic relations were established in 1992.
Ahead of the trip, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang stated that the visit represents a significant opportunity for Vietnam to deepen its ties with France, Sweden, and Estonia - all important and influential partners in Europe.
France is currently a comprehensive strategic partner of Vietnam, while Estonia and Sweden are longstanding friendly nations with broad cooperative relations.
Through this mission, Vietnam also aims to promote stronger collaboration with the European Union (EU), reinforcing its role as a bridge for multifaceted cooperation between the EU and ASEAN.
The visit will help enhance coordination in addressing regional and global issues and contribute to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development both regionally and globally.
The working trip also provides Vietnam with an important platform to convey its message of determination and aspirations for development to the international community, while attracting maximum international resources to support the country's development goals in the new era.
