On July 17, THADS HCMC announced that it had completed the second disbursement for Phases 1 and 2 of the Van Thinh Phat case.
In this round, 41,441 bondholders received a total payout of VND 696 billion, equivalent to a reimbursement rate of 2.4553%.
Previously, in the first disbursement, the enforcement agency paid more than VND 7.25 trillion (approx. USD 285 million) to the same number of bondholders, based on a reimbursement rate of 24.81%.
The total funds collected to date for this purpose exceed VND 7.46 trillion (approx. USD 293 million), including VND 1.461 trillion (approx. USD 57.4 million) seized by the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Department, and VND 6.002 trillion (approx. USD 236 million) recovered directly by THADS HCMC.
Following the first round, THADS continued liquidating assets and secured an additional VND 738 billion (approx. USD 29 million), of which VND 696 billion was distributed in this second phase.
To date, the total amount paid out to bondholders has surpassed VND 7.947 trillion (approx. USD 312 million).
According to THADS HCMC, some bondholders have yet to receive compensation in either round due to incomplete or incorrect information, or in some cases, because the bondholder is deceased. Affected individuals are requested to submit relevant documents and personal details to THADS HCMC or Tan Viet Securities for verification and subsequent disbursement according to regulations.
THADS also noted that over VND 1.207 trillion (approx. USD 47.5 million) remains frozen in various bank accounts and has not yet been transferred to THADS HCMC. Of this amount, SCB Bank alone holds over VND 1.155 trillion (approx. USD 45.5 million). Once these funds are released by the banks, further payment rounds will be conducted.
Bondholders are advised to avoid accessing suspicious or unverified links to prevent scams, refrain from gathering in large crowds to maintain public order, and regularly follow official updates from THADS HCMC.
