On the morning of June 25, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh Province held an inauguration ceremony for the Nam Dinh General Hospital, with a total investment of approximately 1.755 trillion VND (about 69 million USD).

Nam Dinh General Hospital has a 700-bed capacity.
The hospital was built on a 9.25-hectare site located in the heart of the My Trung urban area in Nam Dinh City. The project includes six interconnected buildings designed as a unified block, linked by a central lobby and connecting corridors.
The facility features Building 1 (8 stories) housing the emergency department, technical services, and administration; Building 2 (10 stories) for diagnostic imaging, laboratory departments, and inpatient wards; Building 3 (11 stories) for outpatient care and additional inpatient departments; Building 4 (4 stories) designated for the infectious disease department; Building 5 (1 story) for anatomical pathology; and Building 6, a connecting corridor between Buildings 2 and 3. All departments have been designed with modern, practical layouts, aligned with current medical technology standards.
At the ceremony, Dinh Van Phuong, Director of Nam Dinh Province’s Project Management Board for Construction Investment, highlighted the hospital's significance in enhancing healthcare services for residents while also contributing to economic and social development in Nam Dinh and the newly merged Ninh Binh province.
Following the inauguration, the Project Management Board and contractors will continue working closely with the hospital to ensure safe and efficient operations after handover.

To ensure smooth and effective operation before August 1, Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Province People's Committee Tran Le Doai instructed contractors to provide detailed guidance on system operations and maintenance. He emphasized the need for thorough warranty and maintenance support and urged cooperation with the hospital in its initial operation phase.
The Department of Health and the hospital’s management were directed to swiftly complete the relocation from the old facility, aligning operations with the new infrastructure. In parallel, the Department of Health, Department of Finance, and hospital leadership must expedite procurement and installation of medical equipment according to plan, ensuring optimal functionality.
The province’s healthcare sector was also urged to prioritize recruiting and training qualified medical professionals with both expertise and ethical standards. Strengthening collaborations with central hospitals and focusing on patient-centered care will be essential in elevating Nam Dinh General Hospital to a leading medical center in the southern Red River Delta, fulfilling expectations of the local government and residents of both Nam Dinh and the recently merged Ninh Binh province.
