On June 12, the Economic Police Division of the Ho Chi Minh City Police announced it is expanding its investigation into potential violations in the food trading sector after seizing large quantities of questionable animal products lacking proper documentation.

On June 7, a task force from the Economic Police Division conducted a surprise inspection of a food trading company in Tan Nhut commune, Binh Chanh district. In the company’s cold storage, officers discovered more than 61.5 tons of animal organs and meat without invoices, documents verifying their origin, or veterinary quarantine certificates.

The seized goods included over 1.3 tons of pig udders, 16.7 tons of pig stomachs from Poland, nearly 26.5 tons of pig stomachs from the Netherlands, 3.6 tons of beef shank, 5.9 tons of chicken cartilage, and 7.5 tons of chicken ovaries.

Authorities confirmed that the products were stored in cartons with foreign-language labels, lacking supplementary Vietnamese labels and any form of origin verification or accompanying documentation.

Earlier, on May 29, the Economic Police Division in coordination with Binh Hung Hoa Ward Police (Binh Tan District) inspected a business located on Street No. 22. They discovered nearly 3.4 tons of animal products with no documentation confirming their source.

The following day, on May 30, the Economic Police teamed up with Binh Hung Hoa B Ward Police to inspect a cold storage facility on Binh Thanh Street, owned by an individual. Here, they found 3.4 tons of animal organs and meat lacking branding, invoices, or origin certification.

Police documented all administrative violations, sealed the goods, and temporarily seized the entire stock for further processing in accordance with legal regulations.
