Education and training, finance, and science and technology have been selected as the three topic groups for National Assembly deputies to vote on for upcoming questioning. From these, two groups will be chosen, and two ministers will answer questions during the session.

The Secretary General of the National Assembly has issued a ballot requesting deputies to select two out of the three proposed topic groups and the corresponding ministers for questioning during the 9th session.

The questioning session will take place over 1.5 days, from the afternoon of June 19 through June 20.

The education and training group will cover the current state and solutions for improving higher education quality and aligning it with the development of a high-quality workforce to meet socio-economic demands.

Topics also include enforcement of regulations on private tutoring, ensuring a safe, healthy, and friendly school environment, school violence prevention, and food safety in schools.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son will be the primary respondent, with Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and ministers from the Ministries of Finance, Home Affairs, Health, Culture-Sports-Tourism, Science and Technology, and Public Security potentially joining to address related concerns.

The finance group will focus on financial strategies for socio-economic development, maintaining growth targets, revamping outdated growth drivers, and identifying new growth drivers.

It will also address improving the performance of state-owned enterprises, policies to support and develop the private sector as a core economic force, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), and mechanisms to develop industrial and economic zones.

Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang will lead the responses, with Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and ministers from the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Science and Technology, and Foreign Affairs also participating.

The science and technology group will focus on the implementation of Resolution 57 from the Politburo on advancing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Other issues include promoting digital transformation in public administration, building digital government, supporting organizations and individuals in developing digital skills, and accelerating the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in state management.

Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung will be the main speaker, joined by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and ministers from the Ministries of Finance, Home Affairs, Education and Training, Public Security, and the Government Office.

After the ministers have concluded their responses, the Prime Minister or an authorized Deputy Prime Minister will address deputies’ questions related to the overall governance of the Government.

According to regulations, each minister has a maximum of five minutes to speak before questioning begins. For each round, three to five deputies may ask questions, with each having up to one minute. Ministers must respond within three minutes per question. Deputies may request follow-up clarification with up to two minutes of rebuttal if answers are deemed unsatisfactory.
