The Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea includes a network of coastal stations stretching from Hai Phong City to Ca Mau Province. These include K15 Station in Hai Phong, Vung Ro Station in Phu Yen, Loc An Station in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Vam Lung Station in Ca Mau.
Loc An Station was one of the strategic points that received weapons from the Central Command through the maritime Ho Chi Minh Trail. During the resistance war against the United States, it served as a critical supply point for Naval Unit 125.
At this location, officers and soldiers of Ship 41 and Ship 56 from Naval Unit 125, in coordination with Unit 1,500 and the local armed forces and people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, bravely and cleverly overcame enemy blockades. They successfully landed three shipments, transporting 109 tons of weapons, helping destroy numerous strategic hamlets, expand liberated zones, and defeat the U.S.-backed “special war” strategy. These efforts contributed significantly to the resounding victory at Binh Gia in 1965 and to Vietnam's national liberation movement.
The Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea stands as an epic testament to the willpower and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people in the Ho Chi Minh era. It offers strategic lessons for building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern People’s Army in the new era.

The Loc An Station relic was originally recognized as a national historical site by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) in 1995.
On November 26, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed the decision to classify the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea as a special national relic for the localities of Hai Phong City, and the provinces of Phu Yen, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Ca Mau City.
Vice Chairman of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau People’s Committee, Dang Minh Thong, expressed great pride on behalf of the provincial Party Committee and the people in receiving this recognition. He emphasized the increased responsibility in preserving and promoting the value of this historical site.
He also called on Xuyen Moc District authorities to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and other relevant sectors to build on past achievements and actively develop plans to protect the site, aiming to transform it into a valuable local tourism asset.
