Fifty years after reunification, Ho Chi Minh City has transformed into a modern, vibrant, and colorful metropolis, boasting more than 200 buildings over 100 meters tall and a dense stretch of mega-projects from District 1, District 3, Binh Thanh, to Thu Duc City.
Helicopters carrying the national flag and the Party flag have been soaring over the skies of Ho Chi Minh City in recent days, in preparation for the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The helicopter formations of the Air Defense - Air Force Service flew past iconic landmarks including the Independence Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Ben Thanh Market, Landmark 81, and along the winding Saigon River.
Each flight was meticulously executed with uniform, precise formations. The sight of helicopters proudly displaying the national and Party flags created a powerful, sacred, and spirited image against the city's skyline.
Particularly stirring was the moment the helicopters tilted their wings in salute as they passed the Independence Palace, a historic symbol of the 1975 Spring Victory, leaving a deep impression on all who witnessed it.
From the helicopter windows, skyscrapers loomed into view. Prominent among them was the Bitexco Financial Tower, inspired by the shape of a lotus bud. The 68-story building stands over 262 meters tall and features a modern helipad.
After 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City has developed into a bustling urban center, with more than 200 buildings over 100 meters tall. Massive new developments stretch across District 1, District 3, Binh Thanh District, and Thu Duc City.
From above, Ho Chi Minh City appears like a vivid urban painting, dynamic and colorful yet still dotted with historical imprints. The photo captures Saigon Railway Station, its trains threading through the cityscape, a striking image of old and new coexisting.
