Bao scored 9.25 in Math, 10 in English, and 8.5 in Literature on the general high school entrance exam, and 8.8 on the specialized English exam.
With a total score of 45.35/50 (three general subjects plus the specialized subject weighted double), Bao was not only the top scorer in the English-specialized track at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted but also the top English-specialized scorer across Hanoi.
Prior to that, she topped the English-specialized class 10 entrance exam to the High School for Gifted Students (under Hanoi National University of Education).
Thus, in the 2025 admission season, Quynh Bao secured a “triple top score” in English-specialized tracks.
She was offered admission to the English-specialized program at the High School for Foreign Languages (under the University of Foreign Languages, VNU), with a scholarship, and to the Literature-specialized program at both Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU).
Bao chose to pursue the English-specialized program at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, a goal she set years ago.
Hoang Nhu Yen, Quynh Bao’s mother, shared that the family was delighted with the results but also slightly concerned about the added pressure on her daughter.
“She has a strong grasp of grammar, but her listening and speaking skills may not stand out compared to peers from private or international schools. She’ll need to keep working hard and stay resilient for the journey ahead,” Yen said.
Quynh Bao’s passion and aptitude for English emerged early, but her time at Cau Giay Secondary School marked a turning point. Inspired by dedicated teachers and engaging lessons, her love for the subject grew.
“At secondary school, my English teachers’ encouragement fueled my passion. From then on, I sought every way to excel in English,” Quynh Bao said.
Since grade 7, Bao has demonstrated exceptional ability, achieving the highest scores in the school’s English academic competitions for three consecutive years.
Her path wasn’t always smooth. In grade 8, Quynh Bao faced a memorable setback when she competed in the grade 9 school-level academic competition but fell short due to a careless mistake.
In grade 9, she won first place and topped the district-level English academic competition, followed by another first-place finish at the city level. These achievements reflect not only her academic prowess but also her relentless effort.
Quynh Bao also credits her success to the unwavering support of her teachers, who inspired and encouraged her, and her family, who provided a solid foundation and motivation throughout her academic journey.
