These days, Hanoi is fully focused on preparations for the grand celebration, parade, and march commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

The event represents both a major responsibility and an immense source of pride for every Party member, official, and resident of the capital.

Efforts are underway across the city to enhance environmental cleanliness, contributing to a green, clean, and beautiful urban landscape.

According to Hanoi Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee fully recognizes the significance of this task. Following the Central Government’s assignments, the city moved quickly to begin preparations and has been diligently carrying out the designated responsibilities.

A Steering Committee has been established, chaired by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, alongside six subcommittees tasked with specific implementation duties. All assignments delegated by the central government have so far been met on schedule.

Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Vu Thu Ha, shared that on September 5, 2024, Directive No. 35-CT/TU was issued by the City Party Committee, directing the municipal People’s Committee, subordinate Party organizations, and the entire political system to organize commemorative activities for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, along with other major holidays in 2025.

The Hanoi People’s Committee also released Plan No. 158/KH-UBND, outlining three lead tasks, eight coordinated responsibilities, and 21 independently managed activities to be executed by the city.

The city’s master plan for the commemorative events, approved by the Central Government under Decision No. 12-QD/BCDTW dated June 10, 2025, has been finalized.

Based on that framework, Hanoi has developed a detailed schedule for the celebration, including the parade and march, an official logo and identity system, and worked closely with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to finalize the event emblem.

With a proactive spirit, Hanoi is swiftly coordinating with central agencies to organize key upcoming events, including a flower and incense offering at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Bac Son Martyrs Memorial, and Mai Dich Cemetery; a national-level academic conference; an exhibition of socio-economic achievements at the National Exhibition Center; a special art performance at My Dinh National Stadium; a live broadcast on August 22, 2025; and the lacquer painting exhibition “Spring of Independence” at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (from August 10 to September 10, 2025).

LED screens will be installed across the city to allow the public to follow the events without overcrowding the city center, helping to spread a festive atmosphere far and wide.

The city is also mobilizing more than 8,000 volunteers and hosts to ensure seamless logistics and respectful hospitality for domestic and international delegates.

A citywide meeting on July 10 reinforced the goal of ensuring absolute safety and security for the parade and celebration of the 80th National Day on September 2.

Alongside the official ceremonies, Hanoi will host a wide range of meaningful activities, particularly focusing on gratitude initiatives for war veterans and families of martyrs. Additional programs include cultural and sports events, visual promotions, tourism showcases, OCOP product exhibitions, and historical education for students.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the campaign “Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful Capital” will be widely promoted through television, radio, newspapers, and social media.

Public awareness efforts will include guidance on the use and maintenance of public restrooms, especially in crowded areas like squares and parade routes.

Vice Chairwoman Vu Thu Ha also shared that Hanoi has proactively submitted detailed proposals to the Central Steering Committee and relevant ministries to ensure the events are dignified, secure, cost-effective, and deeply memorable - reinforcing national pride and the ambition to build a prosperous, modern capital.

Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasized that Hanoi has been entrusted with extensive responsibilities by the Central Government, requiring both leadership and collaboration. Urban sanitation and beautification are top priorities.

The city’s Party Committee has directed all districts and communes to treat the preparation as a major, focused task - launching beautification campaigns to decorate neighborhoods, streets, and alleys, creating a vibrant atmosphere in honor of the National Day and the success of the August Revolution.
