Earlier, the committee received Document No. 03-25/VJC-TTTT dated May 21, 2025, from Vietjet Aviation JSC, requesting the handling of false and damaging information posted on multiple Facebook accounts, which seriously affected the airline’s reputation.

In response, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to coordinate with relevant agencies to investigate and address the issue in accordance with the law, and report the results back to the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Previously, on January 20, the Chief Inspector of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications issued an administrative penalty decision against two individuals, Mr. N.Q.D and Ms. N.T.N, for spreading fabricated and defamatory content on Facebook that harmed the reputation and dignity of a Vietjet executive.

A representative of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications stated that these individuals had violated Article 16, Clause 3, Point b of the Law on Cybersecurity. In addition to administrative fines, the department required the individuals to remove the offending content.
