According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Criminal Investigation Division, the suspects were apprehended after they allegedly used pepper spray to overpower a local ride-hailing driver and steal his vehicle.

At around 2:00 a.m. on June 12, N.T.M. (born 1994), a service driver residing in Hai Ninh Ward, Nghi Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province, was operating his vehicle along the North-South expressway near the Dong Xuan interchange in Thanh Hoa City.

Upon reaching the ramp area, M. noticed four unfamiliar individuals standing across the road signaling for a ride. As he lowered his window to communicate, the group attacked him with pepper spray and stole his car.

The suspects fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Upon receiving the report, Thanh Hoa police launched a rapid investigation and manhunt. By shortly after 7:00 a.m. the same day, authorities successfully located and detained all four suspects.

The case remains under active investigation by provincial police forces.
