On May 18, police from Pham Ngu Lao Ward in District 1, in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Police, began investigating a group of individuals caught on video physically attacking a foreign man on the street.

The viral clip circulating on social media shows three young Vietnamese men ganging up on a shirtless foreigner, punching and kicking him in public. The tourist can be seen trying to defend himself and motioning for his attackers to stop.

Despite the victim's attempts to defuse the situation, the trio continued their violent assault, with one individual swinging a beer bottle that grazed the foreigner’s head.

The incident occurred in a busy area full of tourists, yet no bystanders appeared to intervene.

Following the viral spread of the footage, local authorities quickly summoned the individuals involved for questioning. Preliminary statements indicate the assault stemmed from an alcohol-related dispute.
