Due to heavy rain caused by Storm No. 1 (Wutip) in Central Vietnam, several flights were delayed, diverted, or canceled, disrupting airline operations across the region. Among the most affected were Vietnam Airlines flights VN7167 and VN7165 from Hanoi to Da Nang, which were forced to either divert to Cam Ranh or return to Hanoi due to unsafe landing conditions.

Both Vietjet and Vietnam Airlines made adjustments to their schedules to ensure passenger safety. Vietnam Airlines alone canceled 14 flights between Hanoi and Da Nang on the evening of June 11 and early morning of June 12.

At the same time, seven incoming flights to Da Nang had to circle while waiting for improved conditions, causing a domino effect that led to delays for 32 other flights - ranging from 20 minutes to over an hour.

In addition to Da Nang, adverse weather also affected operations at Phu Bai Airport (Hue), where several flights had to wait or were delayed. In response, Vietnam Airlines planned to deploy wide-body aircraft and increase flight frequency on the Hanoi–Da Nang route on the afternoon of June 12 to accommodate affected passengers.

An aviation expert recommended that passengers always keep their seat belts fastened during flights, regardless of whether the seat belt sign is illuminated. This simple precaution helps reduce risks during turbulence, especially amid volatile weather conditions.

To ensure flight safety in response to Storm Wutip, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) issued an official directive to all relevant agencies.

The CAAV has instructed round-the-clock monitoring and strict adherence to procedures for storm and tropical depression response, as well as guidelines for flight operations during hazardous weather conditions at airports.
